Alpha Romeo of Genesis
Fine, uniform fleece that maintains its baby-soft handle as the alpaca matures: this is a quality we strive for in our herd. Romeo's vicuna-phenotype dam exhibits these fleece characteristics, and we are thrilled that he is following suit. The dam of Romeo's sire also exhibits vicuna characteristics; if you check out his histogram below, you'll see why we feel we've discovered ancient treasure with this pairing! These bloodlines will be a total outcross for most females in the US.
Romeo's dreamy fleece features medium amplitude, medium frequency crimp and excellent coverage from his dense topknot down his straight legs. His black skin, gums and toenails indicate that he is carrying impressive color genes. His classic wedge-shaped head is masculine, yet beautiful.
Exhibiting strong libido and robust good health, Romeo was showing a strong interest in breeding at only 14 months. Romeo settles many females in only one breeding. Romeo's offspring are 66% female and 80% colored, even out of white dams. His beautiful babies exhibit alert presence, dense bright crimpy fiber with popcorn bundling right from Day One, and as they grow they develop pleasing facial fiber and the cutest little beards!
